Energy is fundamental to all technology. Recent convergence towards USB as a standard for recharging consuming devices has helped tame the vast numbers of adaptors and wires in our lives, but there are still 3 generations of USB plug standard (and counting).

In the 2000′s I was closely involved with Splashpower for several years, where we set about addressing this problem, creating and protecting much of the seminal IP in the area, and raising awareness of the potential of this technology to make consumers’ lives easier. This has now become a significant market.

We learned a lot about the space – and what the challenges really are.
